About Me

I am a doctoral student at Northern Arizona University. I am doing research in the Traustadóttir Lab where I study the effects of aging on antioxidant pathways, primarily NRF2, in response to stressors like exercise. I want to rescue the age-associated decline in NRF2 activation with phytochemicals found in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and determine the connection of the gut microbiome in this pathway and oxidative stress. I also instruct a human anatomy & physiology laboratory course.
I take pride in all that I do; I firmly believe that hard work pays off and know that each day brings me closer to reaching my goals. My ultimate goal is to become an independent researcher investigating the public health concerns of the community. Explore my website, and feel free to get in touch with any questions.
